Youth Connecting With Communities, a youth leadership program of the Islamic Society of Chester County, was formed in 2015. The goal of our organization is to empower the youth by seamlessly integrating volunteer work into their lives and enabling them to improve the lives of people in the community. Students of YCC meet every Sunday during the school year and learn basic life skills such as public speaking, debate, leadership and team work. YCC families strive to make the world a better place by providing clothes, food, and other daily necessities to under privileged families and refugees.
Along with community service and interfaith activities, YCC also participates in MIST - A fun, educational, interactive program of competitions and workshops geared towards bringing high school students together from around the nation to develop leadership, communication, and other creative skills, all while gaining a deeper understanding of Islam and Muslims. Finally, we have a little fun too. In the past, we have gone to Urban Air, bowling and even paint balling. |
